Zach grew up in Pulaski, WI, in a great school music program. From 2001-2005 he attended UW-Stevens Point and earned a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance. Upon graduation, Zach auditioned and was selected to play in the Playland Band in Playland Park, Rye, New York. That summer he felt a strong urge to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in October 2005. After graduating from boot camp Zach attended the Naval School of Music in Norfolk, VA, and was sent to Kaneohe Bay, HI, to serve as a musician in the Marine Forces Pacific Band. In 2009 he was restationed in Quantico, VA, to be the band leader of the Quantico Marine Corps Show Band and Brass Band. Zach’s Marine Corps career took him around the world, playing in such countries as; Australia, Japan, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and many more. After his contract ended in 2014 he attended the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, to earn a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Zach currently teachs 5th-8th grade band at Wheatland Center School in Burlington, WI.
